The best bedding I’ve found for strawberries is pine needles.
Pine needles help keep the weeds down and gives the strawberries a good surface to rest on.
I’ve found that sometimes strawberries that rest on soil can spoil more easily or get rot spots, especially if they get over ripe. That’s not the case with pine needles.
